On 24 October, Sovico in northern Italy inaugurated its renewed Salvatore Quasimodo Civic Library at 4 Viale Brianza. Gazzetta di Milano’s report, published on 26 October, confirms the ceremony announced by the municipality as part of its patronal festival. The renovation concerns the historic building designed by Guglielmo Ulrich. [1][2]

The report describes spaces for reading, children and teenagers, and multimedia activities. The municipal programme for the weekend and Monday paired books with a workshop using Japanese kamishibai paper theatre, a puzzle game and board-game sessions: different ways to get involved in a library. [1][3]

The ribbon-cutting should not be confused with the first return of the service. An earlier municipal notice announced a temporary reopening from 15 September, exclusively for collecting reserved books and returning loans. The official ceremony took place on 24 October; these sources do not measure any increase in readership. [4][2]
