On 14 October, the Rizzoli Orthopaedic Institute announced a special opening of its Umberto I Library on Sunday 18 October. The library is inside the former monastery of San Michele in Bosco in Bologna. The event forms part of the fifth national Historic Hospitals Day, focusing this year on cultural heritage and health. Admission will be free from 3 to 5.30 pm through the Monumental Entrance at 1 Via Pupilli. Library staff will offer guided visits to the rooms and historic collections. The sixteenth-century room preserves frescoes painted by Domenico Maria Canuti in 1677 and a globe completed in 1762. The opening is scheduled: it has not yet taken place at the time of this edition.
